What is God really like?

The way we see God shapes the way we approach Him, trust Him, and respond to Him. Yet our understanding of the Father can be influenced by painful experiences, unanswered questions, fear, disappointment, and assumptions we may not even realize we carry.

Knowing the Father is a 40-day journey through Scripture designed to help you slow down, examine what you believe about God, and return again and again to what He has revealed about Himself.

Reader Reflections

— Dawn Dokoupil

“There is not a single day where I have not completely resonated with the false beliefs and questions. They could have been my exact thoughts.

And I love how you bring Jesus into it. As crazy as it sounds, I know Jesus and God are One, however I always feel like Jesus is the loving, kind, merciful one, and God is the disciplinary, punishing, mean One so I love the reminder that Jesus is God and that Jesus came to show us God in the flesh so the way I think of Jesus, is how I should think of God.

And the prayers are beautiful. It's just so meaningful.”

Come to Know the Father More Deeply

What we believe about God shapes so much of how we relate to Him. And no matter how long we've walked with Him, there is always more to learn about His character and His faithfulness.

Over the next 40 days, take time to sit with His Word, consider what Jesus reveals about the Father, and examine the beliefs that may be shaping how you see Him. As you come to know Him more deeply, may His truth shape the way you trust Him and walk with Him.
