Have you ever wondered why certain alcoholic beverages are called spirits?
The word alcohol comes from the Arabic word, 'al-kuhl' which means body eating spirit and it gives root origins to the English term for 'ghoul.' According to Middle Eastern folklore, ghoul is known as an evil demon thought to eat human bodies.
In alchemy, "Alcohol is used to extract the soul essence of an entity." ~ Jason Christoff
It can be said that, consuming alcohol lowers our inhibitions ultimately allowing the body to be more susceptible to neighboring entities (spirits) and is in effect, extracting the very essence of the soul making room for these spirits.
When excessive amounts of alcohol is consumed we can black out which involves losing our memory while we're still awake and conscious. Blacking out can be considered an invitation to other entities or spirits to enter your body. During a blackout, you can move around, interact with others, and seem fine to those around you.
How many times have you or someone you know after becoming intoxicated with alcohol, behaved in a manner that was uncommon for them, such as, speaking in a different voice, sexual promiscuity, violence, destruction to property and other negative expressions.
Alcohol depresses the nervous system, it kills brain cells, is heavily toxic to the liver, it weakens the immune system and has other harmful effects on the body including radical hormone imbalances. It would appear as if the body is being eaten. Yet it is mass promoted in mainstream culture. I have to ask "why?"
In this BusinessofYOU™ Conversation my friend, Jennifer Smith and I discuss her profound journey to find self-love and compassion, a process that has transformed her from the inside out. Jen shares that her use of alcohol was an attempt at self love, self worth and success. She talks about her life before and after a life of "social" drinking and the significant difference between the two. Watch the interview here —> From Drinking to Numb the Pain to Creating a Fulfilling Blend of Purpose and Paycheck.

This is the second BusinessofYOU ™ Conversation I had this month about alcohol because it being the holiday season, more alcohol is consumed this time of year. Not only because people are celebrating the holiday’s, but also because of the grief and pain are greater during this time of year and people are wanting to distract themselves from their emotions.

May you find our conversation inspiring and wanting to share it with others.
